Silhouetted Fisherman

Description

Taken of a fisherman trying his hand at coaxing fish from the Ohio River. I sat and talked with him for almost 3 hours and the only thing he managed was catching several branches and tufts of grass. :D

Now I love a good sunset and this is really no exception. The colours in this piece are beautiful.

If the fisherman hadn't been there I'd have probably suggested using a long exposure.. but then it wouldn't be called 'Silhouetted Fisherman'

Did you use any filters? If not then perhaps a strong ND grad across the sky and parts of the water would reduce a little of the over exposure of the sun's reflection towards horizon.

Talking of the horizon, perhaps it could do with a little straightening up and maybe clone out whatever it is that's floating around in the left corner of the lake <img src="e.deviantart.com/emoticons/g/g…" width="17" height="15" alt=":giggle:" title="Giggle" />

Overall it's a nicely composed image, you use the rule of thirds quite well and I love those ripples in the water close to the fisherman - shame he didn't catch anything other than twigs etc
